A feminine touch to a little girls room

February 8, 2017 by chantelle

When we were creating Ellie’s nursery we wanted to create a girly, but still somewhat neutral environment. Adding this floral E initial in an elegant Ikea frame was an easy addition!

Unfortunately, at the time I didn’t take pictures of creating it but I’ll try to give you my best walk through in steps!

What you’ll need

  • Hot glue gun and glue
  • Piece of cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Ikea UNG DRILL frame
  • Fake flowers (I got mine from Michaels)

First, I outlined in pencil the letter E. I did this by freehand and didn’t worry about it being perfect because the flowers would hide the imperfections. Then I cut the letter out.

Your flowers will likely come on stems so be sure to remove those in order to create a flat base to apply the glue to your flower. Then I simply glued the flowers onto the letter E. I didn’t really arrange the flowers where I wanted them prior to gluing them and this caused no issues during the process.

Once it dried, I took everything out of the Ikea frame aside from the glass. Then I used the hot glue gun again to put a generous amount on the back of the letter and stuck it onto the front of the glass frame.

That’s it! I’m sure you could create a ton of different looks with this method and I would love to hear if any of you have created anything similar!

Love, Tilly and Goo
