I finally got my hands on my very own Cricut Maker and it’s everything I hoped for and more!
You guys, the Cricut Maker is a tool unlike any other. Whether you’re looking to do some crafting for yourself or to start a business, it can help you create just about anything! Some of my favourite features is it can cut through fabrics, leather, paper, and balsa wood. However, that’s not all – it can actually cut through over 300 different materials. If you need crisp folds or engraving it’s got you covered there too.
Another one of my favourite features are the pens and markers. It can do calligraphy like a pro. Can I tell you how badly I needed these pens for my wedding invitation envelopes?!
There’s storage included in the machine for some of your tools, a dock for your tablet or phone, and even a USB port to keep it charged.
I’ll be honest, I was a little worried about the learning curve of buying a Cricut but I can not begin to describe how easy it was to figure out!
The box comes with the cutest packaging which lays out how to get started very simply. Once I set the machine up, I downloaded Design Space and it helped me learn how to create my very first project! The best part is it even came with the materials for my practice run. Once you load Design Space there are hundreds of projects you can try. When you launch the project it will give you a material list to go through to see if it’s something you would like to create. If you decide to go for it your app syncs with the Cricut and works simultaneously with you, walking you through each and every step along the way. If you want to get creative you can also design your own project and upload your own fonts and images.
Check out this adorable card I created for my first project that came included!

I was so inspired afterwards that I created some bats for Halloween using Removable Black Matte Vinyl to add some decorations to my daughters playroom. 🙂 They were a huge hit with her too! For this project I simply selected the design using the Cricut app and followed the instructions. Once it was done cutting the vinyl I removed the negative image and simply peeled the bats off and stuck them on her cabinet.
Lastly, I made this cute Trick or Treat sign! I painted a piece of reclaimed barnwood white and then printed the premade logo. I used Permanent Glossy Vinyl so that I can reuse the sign for next year.
I think its safe to say that I’m obsessed and I cannot wait to share more fun projects with you guys! From pillows to handbags or garlands, there’s honestly so much you can create. The possibilities are endless! To learn more be sure to visit their website linked here!
