A couple of years ago we decided to move from the city to an acreage and purchased an older farm house. It was close to the city and had so much more land then we were used too but to be honest, it reminded me of my Grandparents house. Charming, but not my style. Room by room we have been updating it and slowly but surely it’s coming
together. I LOVE our new kitchen. It is spacious and bright and feels much more welcoming now. One thing I regret (aside from forgetting to include a microwave cabinet) is not updating our counter tops to quartz, but at the time we were on a budget. This can always be updated later though and doesn’t diminish me enjoying this kitchen at all.
Some tips to make your kitchen look more custom:
Create a base for your lower cabinets to sit on rather than using the little legs that come with them. Then install your baseboards to the base.
Opt for tall upper cabinets and complete the look with crown molding to make them look truly custom. We will be adding this as well down the road!
