If you haven’t heard yet, Cricut has released their newest addition to their amazing collection of products and I couldn’t be more excited to get my hands on it!
It’s called the Cricut Joy and it is the cutest DIY machine ever! It’s so small and compact that it even has its own little carry case! How sweet?!
Whenever I’m personalizing things like labels or wanting to make quick gift, time is often the enemy with a toddler. I absolutely love how quick and easy it is to set out anywhere in my home so I can DIY while still entertaining my little one. Gone are the days of needing a craft room! It’s not only the size that makes it easy to set up, but also Cricut has released a whole suite of new materials so you don’t even need to use a mat with the Joy! Which is also great if you’re looking to save on costs and time (no more switching mats means less steps). However If you want to use the traditional materials you are still able to use them with the Cricut Joy mats 🙂
As you may know I do have a Cricut Maker which I also absolutely love, and the Cricut Joy was the perfect companion to that. It has opened up a ton of more capabilities to craft. One of my favourites is how it can do 20’ of repeated cut capabilities! This blows my mind! Now I can make things like decals for a bedroom, or large scale signs.
I’m going to be sharing 3 super easy projects I created in 15 minutes or less from the comfort of my dining table. P.S, this machine literally looks so cute set out or displayed anywhere.
For my first project I had my daughter help me create this fun heart phone case. I will link these hearts from design space here.
We chose two fun Smart Vinyl (mat free) colors to load in the machine. It was super quick and easy to print using the Design Space app.
Afterwards we used our transfer tape and simply freestyle placed where we wanted the hearts to go on the case. It was such a fun project for us to do together and I love how it turned out.
The next project we did together was create some remote labels.
We have a few tv’s in the home with different Amazon Fire Sticks we always get confused, so this was a perfect solution to that! This was also a fun one to do with my daughter and she loves showing us that she can read the labels. So sweet!
The Cricut Joy has a variety of pen styles you can choose from which is great for things like cards and of course labels. I was amazed how this ink did not smudge immediately after!
For this project I simply chose a label I liked in Design Space (you can find here), and initially used the pen. Afterwards, I switched the pen out for the blade and it cut out my labels! How cool is that?!
Lastly, I created this STUNNING Easter card. Like, wow. Cricut has outdone themselves with these super easy to use insert cards. Basically, this pack came with envelopes, pre-scored cards to design, and card stock inserts. It is the most beautiful, thoughtful card you could possibly make in such a short amount of time.
For this I simply went to Design Space and chose my card style and then put my card onto the mat. This mat is a little different in that you tuck it in between the card.
The Cricut Joy cut out my design I chose flawlessly and then I inserted the card stock colour of my choice.
The best part is I have extras now for many occasions. If I want to get extra fancy I could totally make the machine write on the inside of the card with the Cricut Pens.
I will link this beautiful Easter card from Design Space here. The best part about Design Space is how user friendly it is. As a first time user I had no confusion or trouble navigating the steps required to complete any of these projects from my phone!
I hope you enjoyed these easy projects because they were sure fun to make! The Cricut Joy is available online and in-store. Of course, if your stores are closed for the time being, many are offering curb side pick up as well :). To learn more about the awesome features the Cricut Joy offers check out www.Cricut.com.
