I tried my first meal kit and I can truly say I’m now addicted.
I’ve heard great things about Hello Fresh so I was super excited to try their service. I had so many questions..like what would be in the box. How did they keep it insulated. Would it be as good as I’ve heard? (Serious life questions here guys).
This. Is. The. Future. Meal planning alone can be so time consuming never mind the time it takes to go out shopping for your dinners. I love how Hello Fresh has a super simple website where you can order pre assembled meal boxes for your dinner. Because us mamas need all the convenience we can get!
First, I went to their website Hello Fresh. Next, went to their meal plans. They have a Pronto plan for meals under 30 minutes (umm yes). A Family plan fun for the whole family and a Veggie plan for vegetarians. I selected the number of people (2 or 4) and the number of meals per week (3 or 4). And then selected our meals. (Pro tip: their recipes and meals are so delicious looking so don’t try to decide this while hungry). That’s it! I chose the pronto plan for 4 people and 3 nights. And for meals I selected the Tandoori Chicken, Pork and Parmesan Patties, and the Smoky BBQ Beef Sandwich.
The box came on delivery day as planned. It came in a regular looking box, but upon opening it had a special insulated lining and these super cool ice packs on the bottom (that I saved because who knows when I can reuse them). The box smelt AMAZING from the moment I opened it. I knew what meals I had planned to receive but I didn’t expect the amount of fresh herbs and spices I’d received. And honestly I don’t think I could’ve went to the grocery store and bought the same products for that price. But the nice thing with this delivery is obviously convenience and everything is pre portioned and ready to go!
When I was ready to begin cooking I loved how it had a instruction sheet that right away tells you what bowls or pans you will need which cuts down on so much prep time. They instructions were short and simple and 30 minutes later I had a restaurant quality meal. My husband joked saying even he could cook this meal. I’m pretty sure these meals are quite possibly the best tasting meals to come out of our kitchen.
Our little picky eater LOVED it. So much so that we enjoyed left overs for lunch the next days. We had so many left overs it was amazing.
